There is already an idea that a report can be sent as PDF instead of Excel.
However, when sending out Excel files, it would be good to 'flatten' for standard users (those not licensed).
Remove all formulas - both Cosmos and Excel. We are just about to go live and noticed that those we send out currently as PDF cannot be done with Cosmos, but there is also no way to send out as flat text... so end users need to "Enable Editing" for Excel to then calculate, which could take a lot of time depending on the report data.
Hi Luke, thanks for sending this along and I've added this for future consideration. Typically the "Enable Editing" is shown whenever a file is downloaded, it's sort of a way to add a level of protection in Excel, so I don't know if removing all of the Excel functions would resolve that but I still think it's a good idea. When "Enable Editing" is clicked it would only need to update the Excel functions which typically only takes a second or so; let me know if you're seeing something else and we can take a look!
