View design in read-only mode

I would like to be able to view the design of a report in read-only mode without checking it out. Sometimes I want to quickly look at something, and I would like to ensure I don't accidentally change the file contents. I usually remember to discard the changes, but sometimes I check the report back in out of habit. Thanks for your consideration.
